Callosum returns to 48k for his first full EP with the label, ‘Tell You’.

Since his last release with 48k over two years ago, Callosum has built a presence in the tight-knit, vibrant experimental club scene of Leipzig, where he is completing a postdoctoral position. After a period of experimentation with drumless music, ‘Tell You’ finds Callosum responding to his experiences in a new nightlife context and reengaging with club music production, still with his trademark penchant for emotiveness and drama.

The EP is “...inspired by the isolation of moving abroad during a pandemic and the excitement of discovering a like-minded music community there,” Callosum explains. It is also drawn directly from his experience hosting his radio show, ‘Ecstatic Origins,’ on local Leipzig station Callshop Radio. On the show, he “...focuses on tracing the historical roots of emotion and drama in contemporary club music.” Callosum continues: “while preparing for each show, I spent a lot of time digging into music from the mid to late ‘90s: ambient trance, IDM, and jungle-infused pop. These long listening sessions directly inspired the sound palette of this EP.”
